How to use

How do I add a channel to my dashboard?

CatalogTap “Catalog” and you will see the directory partition with the available channels. All channels are grouped by topics. You can select channel in the topic and tap on it, to add it to the dashboard. Repeated channel selection will remove it from the dashboard.

Can I access to the channels at other languages?

Yes, we support channels in different languages. For convenience, all channels are grouped and separated based on language in various sections of the catalog. To add to channels in other languages, you need to navigate to a top level directory by clicking the “Language” and the list that appears, select the language you are interested.

How do I remove channel from the dashboard?

Swipe your finger from right to left over channel what you want to remove. As a result of this operation right of the channel’s name will be appear “Delete” button - press it and the channel will be removed from the dashboard.

Can I add my RSS-feeds?

No, Current version is not supported this functionality.

How can I add other sources that are not listed in the catalog?

You can offer to create a new channel, filling out a form on our server.

I added a few channels. How do I get them on the device?

SyncPress “Sync”. The program then connects to the server and will update all channels that you have on the dashboard.

Each time pressing this button, the program will check updates of all channels that you have on the dashboard and deliver new information.

What is different between channels and RSS-feeds?

Not always web site provides access to RSS. And by no means always, these RSS contain a full version of articles that makes you all the same to move to the site and read the news right there.

Channel is like a “snapshot” section of the source server, what is adapted for viewing on your mobile device. Typically, it contains more information than RSS, and after receiving the updates, you can read the full news releases and articles without the need to access to any further information from the server.

In addition, during the synchronization transmitted only to-date information (including multimedia data), but not the entire channel entirely. Plus, all information is transmitted in compressed form. This allows you to quickly get all the updates.

What do mean the graphic “status” next to the channel’s name in the list on the dashboard?

The new, unread updated and never has been open. Also, in addition to status, its name appears in boldface type.
Read index in the channel viewed just a list of news (the first page of the channel). No other pages in the channel are never has been open.
Read some news has read one or more pages in the channel.
Read in full has read in full by the channel, including all of pages.
Updating channel channel currently receives updates from the server or it is unavailable. The latter may happen if the channel has never been downloaded from the server or last synchronization has been unsuccessful. The name of such kind of channels is displayed in gray color and it’s content is blocked.

Can I update only selected channels?

No, current version of the application will check and updating of all channels that you have on the dashboard.

Can I cancel the process of synchronization?

Yes, you can cancel the process of synchronization at any time by pressing on the button “Interrupt synchronization”. Unfortunately, if this time is used to obtain update for a channel, the channel will be blocked and it’s content will not be available as long as you haven’t run again synchronization and wait for it’s complete.

Can I read the channels, during the process of synchronization?

Yes, you can read the channels during the process of synchronization. Any channel during update may be blocked for short time. The remaining (Unlocked) channels can be accessed without any other restrictions. Moreover, new channels, which already updated, too, can be accessed before the end of the synchronization process.

How do I return to the table of content in the channel?

IndexTo quickly jump to table of content in the channel can use the button “Index”, which will return you to the index page. Thus you can always come back to contents and read only the news that you are interested.

Is it possible to disable the automatic deletion of old content in the channel?

No, this version is no such possibility. The server always generates a “snapshot” section of the site and allows you to view only the latest content. You can use service Evernote to save any important parts of channel’s content.

How do I go to the server source from which formed current page?

To quickly move to the server-source, all channels are provided with appropriate reference, which is located at the bottom on all pages on the channel - where the copyright information. Tap on it and you will be asked to open page on the source server.

How to identify links that lead to external sources of links that lead to the page in the channel?

Those links for which information is available directly in the channel are underlined by a solid line. Links that are underlined by a dotted line are pointing to external resources.

Can I send my favorite content form the page to a friend or save it?

Yes. In the current version of the program you can send content of the page via e-mail, post a link to it on Twitter, or keep it on the server Evernote.

If the channel that I read, contains formatting errors, incomplete information from the source or has not been updated, can I somehow fix it?

You can send us information on such a channel with a description of the error and we will try to fix it. You can do this either directly to the program on the device, selecting point “error report” in sharing menu or filling out form on our website.

Can I prevent to change screen orientation when you turn the device?

Yes. For iPad it can be done with hardware button located on it. iPhone and iPod Touch versions provides special option in the application settings: go to “Settings” and choose mDigger at applications list.

How to disable the automatic screen rotation, or animation in the transition between pages?

This is done quite simply. Must return to the home screen on the device. Start Settings application. Choose mDigger. Now you can use two switches - one to lock application in portrait orientation and second for disable animation.

Paid and free features

Is it true that this program is free?

Yes, this program is free, but it has limits for traffic, which is available to you to synchronize the channels. If you are interested in only a few channels what are rarely updated, then free service may enough for you.

What happens when the entire quota is selected?

You just can not get the updates for the channels until the period for which the quota is issued, or until you haven’t bought a paid subscription.

Why subscribe? What gives me the paid subscription?

When you bought subscription then all limits for traffic will be removed from synchronization. Accordingly, you are not limited to the number of channels to which you can subscribe and how often they update.

How is calculated traffic for synchronization and what it is?

Traffic is calculated only at the time of synchronization of content channels. All content channels transmitted in compressed form and is not duplicated. That is, if you have already loaded a channel, will be updated only that portion of the channel, which has must be changed.

How to calculated time period, which is issued free quota?

The period is 30 days. The first date of the period is considered the first day of use application. After this period, the quota will renewed and can be used for the next 30 days.

Are there any limitations on traffic in the case of a paid subscription?

Limitations is not exist. In the case of a paid subscription, you can use any amount of traffic during synchronization without any limitations.

What happens when a paid subscription ends?

At the end of a paid subscription application will be automatically switched into a mode in which you will get quota for traffic.

How do I place a paid subscription?

SubscribeYou can push the button “Subscribe” and choose a subscription, what is suitable for you. Available subscriptions for different time durations.

Can I use my subscription on other devices, or only on the device with which it was made payment for subscription?

You can use up to 5 devices, which will share one subscription. To do this you will need when subscribing to enter a password. On the new device you will need to enter a Reference ID from the device with the subscription (Reference ID located at Settings->mDigger->About), and the password. After that, the new device will be automatically included to your subscription.

In that case, if the subscription will be further extended on any of your devices, you don’t needed to do any further action for all other devices - subscription will extended automatically for all devices.

Misc

I would like to change the accounts that are used to send content to Twitter or Evernote. How can I do?

You can change the account credentials for Evernote and Twitter using mDigger page into Settings application on the device.

Where can I find the current version number of the application installed on my device, and it’s ID?

Start Settings application on the device and scroll down to mDigger Reader. Select this item. Version of the application and it’s ID you can find at the bottom of the page.

Do you support the program on platforms other than the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad?

No, today other platforms are not supported.
